Employee Burnout - A Guide for HR Professionals & People Managers
Speaker
Introduction
Burnout is a now familiar term in the workplace. It can be used in conjunction with other terms (such as stress and depression) to cover a variety of conditions related to poor mental health. Sometimes it is used as a cover-all term where employees may feel that they are not coping well and so use this term to describe their feelings of not being able to cope.
Managers are now more aware than ever about the effects that poor mental health can have on their employees, but may be unable to see people struggling in their own teams as they feel that they know their staff. They are then as surprised as anyone else to suddenly find that people that they are responsible for need time away from work due to work pressure.
