Disability Benefits - Preparing for Change
Introduction
This short webinar has been developed to provide a guide to the latest developments in the Government’s plans to reform the Disability Benefits system, with particular regard to Personal Independence Payment and Universal Credit.
The webinar will outline what the proposals look like following the 9th July, which is the date set for the Third Reading of the Bill.
Even if the drastic cuts to PIP are averted, there will still be changes to Universal Credit for people claiming on the grounds of illness or disability. The Government has also released draft changes to the PIP and UC regulations which allow benefit claimants to ‘give work a try’ without jeopardising their benefits or triggering a reassessment.
The webinar will correct errors and misunderstandings, set out the likely timeline for change, and provide practical advice about how claimants can best prepare for what lies ahead.
Please note that the course is not suitable for specialist benefits caseworkers and will not address immigration-related benefits issues.
