Introduction

Whilst the word ‘planning’ doesn’t feature in its title, the Levelling Up and Regeneration Act 2023 (LURA) includes a raft of significant planning provisions.

These include measures to accelerate housing delivery, new systems for development plans and environmental assessment together with reforms to heritage protection, crown development, planning enforcement, nature protection and compulsory purchase procedure and compensation.

For planners, developers, and local authorities, these reforms will influence decisions, workflows, and expectations across the system. This webinar considers these changes and their impact on the day-to-day operation of the planning system.
