Introduction

Many practitioners working in public children law proceedings will often need to give consideration to applications for secure accommodation and/or deprivation of liberty.

These have increased in volume over the years and there are clear differences between the two types of orders.

This webinar will focus on the use of Secure Accommodation in children cases and how this links in with Deprivation of Liberty cases. There will be a consideration of developing caselaw in this field, with particular reference to cases using High Court Inherent Jurisdiction Route, developments in statute, regulations, and Practice Guidance.

These and other matters will be considered in this webinar.

What You Will Learn

This webinar will cover the following:

  • Secure accommodation orders and DOL orders - How and why are they used?
  • Applications for secure accommodation - What needs to be done?
