Tax Litigation in Practice - From Appeal to Hearing
Introduction
This seminar provides a comprehensive grounding in handling tax disputes before the tax tribunals.
Through a practical case study (to be read in advance), expert speaker Patrick Boch will guide you through the main stages of a dispute - from the notice of appeal through to the main hearing - while also providing a brief overview of the appeals process.
Designed to equip you with the knowledge and skills to manage tribunal cases effectively, this seminar will focus on the traditional division of labour between solicitors and counsel. By the end of the course, you will be able to:
- Undertake the solicitor’s role: gathering evidence, drafting witness statements, and ensuring client care
- Instruct counsel effectively for drafting statements of case and tribunal submissions, advocacy, and providing ongoing advice
