Introduction

The law involved in tackling anti-social behaviour within social housing changed following the introduction of the Renting Homes (Wales) Act 2016. We will consider how this has changed what actions are available to social housing landlords and what has remained the same.

In addition to the powers under the Renting Homes (Wales) Act 2016, this will include discussing the legal framework as set out in the Anti-Social Behaviour, Crime and Policing Act 2014; and Equality Act 2010.

Commencing legal action also requires careful action considering the proportionality of all actions within a landlord’s legal toolkit, taking into consideration Equality Act duties of social landlords.

The aim of this webinar is to explore the legal framework in which social landlords can take action; the evidence that you will require to achieve a successful outcome by reference to relevant legislation and case law; and Civil Procedure Requirements.

The webinar will explore the Equality Act duties of social landlords and how to put these into practice. It is suitable for legal representatives who represent social landlords and any involved in taking enforcement action on behalf of social landlords in Wales.
