Introduction

All breakdowns of marriages are governed by the same legal structure, but as the application of the MCA 1973 has been applied over many years, there is a diversity of approach - particularly so with short marriages.

This virtual classroom seminar will provide a comprehensive understanding of the development of the law in this area, with particular regard to how to approach the practicalities, including tactical approaches to FDA and FDR with particular issues that commonly arise - including pre-nups and trusts - given that a lot of short marriages can also be second or more marriages.

What You Will Learn

This live and interactive session will cover the following:

  • A brief history of the development of the law and how it affects this particular genre of matrimonial finance area
  • How to anticipate issues that may arise and advise accordingly
  • Impact of pre-nups on this area and possibility of ‘strike out’ of a claim
  • Trusts and their relevance in this area
  • Form Es
  • How to approach FDA and questionnaires
  • FDR - approach

Recording of live sessions: Soon after the Learn Live session has taken place you will be able to go back and access the recording - should you wish to revisit the material discussed.
