Introduction

The first half of 2025 has started out being very busy in relation to AML/CTF and changes and updates that have been made - for example, new updated AML guidance from some of the regulators and changes to the high risk third country list. The second half of the year promises to be even busier as we prepare for the new Money Laundering Regulations and other updates before the end of 2025.

MLROs and their deputies will need to ensure that all policies, procedures, and internal controls and risk assessments have been updated to incorporate the changes, and training has been provided for staff on what’s new.
