Managing Promotions, Demotions & Internal Staff Moves
Speaker
Introduction
Managers and team leaders will often find themselves at some point needing to move their employees into different roles in line with the needs of the business.
It might be that a new management role has been identified or that a project needs an employee to be temporarily seconded to a team. Perhaps we have a valued employee who is not quite managing their team as well as they might and so we want to demote them. Lots of scenarios arise which make moving staff within an organisation a little tricky for managers to navigate through.
After all, employees were recruited to do a specific role, so how can we ensure that employees are doing the jobs that we need to as circumstances change - with as little risk as possible? Change is a fact of working life and so managers and team leaders need to consider fairness, the legal situation, practicalities and company culture when planning for desired outcomes.
This virtual classroom session will focus on changing roles and responsibilities in line with business needs.
