Introduction

While managers are not counsellors, they do play a crucial role in supporting those in their teams with mental health issues to create a supportive work environment. It’s a difficult path to tread so attending this virtual classroom seminar will help you to navigate that route, guiding them on how to open up conversations and signpost the individuals to the help they need.

This virtual classroom session will also cover how to set, and maintain, boundaries and how managers can keep themselves safe when handling difficult situations.

What You Will Learn

This live and interactive course will cover the following:

  • Useful definitions - what do we need to know?
  • What is ‘mental health’ and how is it related to stress
  • How does poor mental health impact the business
  • What can we do to help people stay well
  • Watching out for the early indicators that someone may be struggling
  • How to open up the conversation sensitively
  • How to manage under performance related to mental health
  • Returning to work - what do you need to ask?
  • Protecting yourself - setting boundaries and taking positive steps to keep you mentally safe

Recording of live sessions: Soon after the Learn Live session has taken place you will be able to go back and access the recording - should you wish to revisit the material discussed.
