Introduction

An employee’s mental health condition can impact how they behave, and how they interact with other colleagues or customers.

For this reason, it’s important for managers and HR professionals to be aware of how-to best balance obligations to support employees’ mental health, but also feel confident in continuing to properly explore consequences for unacceptable behaviour.

This new virtual classroom seminar will discuss the importance of supporting your employees and their mental health, thereby ensuring you meet your legal obligation to provide a safe working environment and avoid damaging discrimination claims should you get it wrong.

What You Will Learn

This live and interactive session will cover the following:

  • When a mental health condition or symptoms are a disability
  • What is misconduct and unacceptable behaviour?
  • The risk of discrimination claims if you handle situations wrong
  • The role occupational health can play
  • Practical tips on how to manage these difficult situations
  • Case studies - employers who got it wrong (and right)

Recording of live sessions: Soon after the Learn Live session has taken place you will be able to go back and access the recording - should you wish to revisit the material discussed.
