Irish Auditing Standards Update 2026/27 & Demonstrating the Value of Audit
Speaker
Introduction
When considering auditing standards in Ireland, two organisations are central: the Irish Auditing and Accounting Supervisory Authority (IAASA) and the UK Financial Reporting Council (FRC).
IAASA supervises the accounting profession in Ireland, including oversight of the quality-assurance and disciplinary procedures of the five Prescribed Accountancy Bodies. It also adopts standards relating to auditing, professional ethics and quality management. Statutory auditors in Ireland must conduct their audits in accordance with these standards, which IAASA adopts under licence from the FRC.
In this webinar, Elaine Jackson of Process Accountants will examine the most recent changes to the International Standards on Auditing as adopted in Ireland. Consideration will also be given to the background to these developments and the possible influence of recent, widely publicised audit failures involving prominent firms.
Finally, this webinar will discuss why a high-quality audit provides value far beyond regulatory compliance and will share practical insights into how auditors can demonstrate and communicate that value more effectively to clients, boards, audit committees and other stakeholders.
