Introduction

International taxation works on quite different principles to domestic tax.

Its complexity derives from the requirement to look at not just the domestic law in one country but to look at two or three jurisdictions which may have competing and indeed contradictory interpretations. There is also the requirement to look at the framework for international tax treaties which underpin the interactions between different jurisdictions.

Further, international taxation has gone through a radical change as a result of the BEPS project - some of the principles which have been established for over 100 years are no longer valid and have been replaced by new principles and rules.

This seminar will help you understand the principles, concepts and challenges which underpin international taxation and will equip you with the knowledge needed to be conversant with the tools and materials used in this area.

  • The basic framework of international tax
