Delayed Cancer Diagnosis - Legal Strategies for Clinical Negligence Claims

Introduction

Cancer encompasses a wide range of conditions, often presenting with varied and complex symptoms.

Designed for legal professionals involved in bringing or defending clinical negligence claims arising from delayed diagnosis of cancer, this webinar will examine potential breaches of duty, most commonly involving a failure to refer for further investigation at an earlier stage. This may arise in general practice, in the Emergency Department, or occasionally in other clinical settings. Cases involving inaccurate reassurance following misinterpreted scans will also be considered.

The webinar will also address the key issues of causation, including how claimants establish that a delay in diagnosis has resulted in additional injury, such as reduced life expectancy or the need for more invasive treatment that could have been avoided with earlier diagnosis.
