Introduction

The Data (Use and Access) Act received Royal Assent on 19 June and brings major changes to how personal data is accessed, processed and regulated across the UK.

The Act amends the UK GDPR and the 2018 Data Protection Act on certain aspects of individual rights, purpose limitation, reliance of legitimate interests for marketing, scientific research and automated decision-making. It also introduces a new complaints procedure, access to smart data, digitisation of the Births and Deaths Register and supports easier access to personal data in the NHS and in Police investigations.

This webinar will explain the key provisions of the Act, including amendments to UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018, and highlights practical implications for businesses to help you stay ahead of regulatory changes, ensure compliance and understand how the Act affects your organisation’s data practices.
