Introduction

Taking on the position of the Compliance Officer for Legal Practice (COLP) can be a daunting prospect. Not only is the COLP vital to ensuring that firms meet their regulatory obligations under the SRA Handbook, the role also carries personal liability. As such, it is essential that newly appointed COLPs get up to speed with their responsibilities quickly.

Presented by expert speaker Rebecca Atkinson, this new virtual classroom seminar will examine what new COLPs should know and do once they have taken up the position.

  • The regulatory framework COLPs operate under

  • Reporting obligations, what is 'serious', the SRA Enforcement Strategy and how to make a report to the SRA
