Introduction

Updated for Autumn 2025, this interactive live session provides a one-stop shop to get going with Construction Insurance.

The construction and engineering industry is one with specific needs and is fraught with risk and reward. Organisations’ insurance requirements are dependent on where they find themselves in the ‘supply chain’. Some needs can be wrapped within corporate functions, others are single-project one-offs and others still form part of a portfolio or programme. Insurance is uniquely able to match these needs.

Identifying needs and satisfying contractual obligations is complex, but essential work. Advisers to project need to assess them, plot the risk and reward of external relationships and implement mitigation actions internally. Major changes in commercial insurance legislation have taken place in the last decade, and, commonly, insurance problems (e.g. lack of cover) are only properly understood when disputes arise, which is exactly when the comfort of insurance is most needed. The Learn Live will signpost some pitfalls to look out for and some key clauses to be aware of.

This session is designed for individuals who work in, or advise on, construction projects or are responsible for risk management, compliance or insurance.

What You Will Learn
