Introduction

One of the biggest problems for online platforms is the constant rise of IP rights online and what obligations must be met by third parties for enforcement.

Online intermediaries are platforms that facilitate sales of products and services online.

These include some well-known household names such as Amazon and Facebook.

They include social media platforms, search engines, web hosting service and e-commerce websites.

Online brand enforcement is by far and away the biggest challenge for both brand owners and platforms and the options and legislation surrounding it are often opaque, uncertain, and expensive.

This new virtual classroom seminar will explore not just the theory but the best and most cost-effective practices in creating a fair and just playing field.

What You Will Learn

This live and interactive session will cover the following:

  • What are online organisations obliged to do to try and avoid assisting infringers?
  • What can brand owners do to enforce their rights online?
  • What type of frameworks can organisations set up to make sure they balance the rights of brand owners and legitimate sellers?
  • Do third party enforcers represent good value for money and do they understand the defences, opportunities, and rights of alleged infringers?

Recording of live sessions: Soon after the Learn Live session has taken place you will be able to go back and access the recording - should you wish to revisit the material discussed.
