Sara Ludlam

Sara is a Partner and Chartered Trade Mark Attorney in Brabners’ Commercial & IP team, leading the firm’s IP practice across Yorkshire from its Leeds office. A Legal 500 “Recommended Lawyer” with 30 years’ experience, she advises on all aspects of IP - covering copyright, databases, trade marks, design rights, software agreements, licensing and GDPR compliance - and is ranked by Chambers and Partners for her flexibility and support on complex projects. Sara has expertise in the legal issues surrounding AI-generated works, including ownership, licensing and enforcement of copyright in digital environments. She regularly advises on the copyright and database implications of machine learning and generative AI, as well as data protection requirements under the UK GDPR and Data Protection Act 2018. Her work includes guiding clients on data governance, cross-border transfers, breach response and compliant data processing in AI applications.
