Paida Manhambara

Paida Manhambara advises a range of global financial institutions - including banks, payment service providers, card networks, e-money issuers, fintechs, and investors - on complex EU and UK regulatory, commercial, and transactional matters. Her work covers authorisations and permissions, conduct of business and governance requirements, AML/KYC compliance, outsourcing, product design and digitalisation projects, cross-border expansion, regulatory engagement (including investigations and enforcement), and the regulatory aspects of M&A. Before joining Sidley, Paida practised at a leading global law firm and completed a secondment in the consumer finance team of a major UK retail bank, experience she draws on to deliver practical, commercially focused advice. She is also a contributing author to the Journal of Payments Strategy & Systems.
