Colin Campbell
Colin was appointed a Costs Judge of the Senior Courts Costs Office in 1996 and a Costs Officer of the Supreme Court (UK) and of the Judicial Committee of the Privy Council in 2010. Before that he was a partner in a Holborn Solicitors' practice specialising in commercial litigation. On retirement from the SCCO in 2015 he took up appointment as a Consultant with Kain Knight and also sits as a Deputy Costs Judge. Colin has sat as an assessor with Judges of the High Court in more than 40 costs appeals and also by invitation with the Court of Appeal. He was a member of the Jackson Report's working group on insolvency costs. He lectures extensively about costs and is a contributor to the Civil Court Practice as well as a monthly columnist for Thomson Reuters Practical Law. Colin is joint editor of the Costs Law Reports and a mediator in costs disputes at Costs Alternative Dispute Resolution (CADR).
