Zero Hour, Low Hour & Other Forms of Employment Contracts
Speaker
Introduction
Zero hour contracts have had a bad press over the years. There have been concerns that they are exploitative, which has been countered by arguments from individuals who like the flexibility that the contracts bring. There is a place for zero hour contracts, but organisations using them need to understand some of the concerns about them, and how they are best used.
In addition, the Employment Rights Act 2025 brings significant changes to the use of zero hour and low hour contracts and changes that affect the use of temporary workers supplied by an employment agency. If employers make significant use of these sorts of workers, they need to be thinking now about what changes they might need to make - in advance of the new rules coming into effect in 2027.
This webinar will examine the nature of zero-hour contracts and low hour contracts, addressing the issue of employment status and how this applies to those working on a zero-hour contract. It will also address the use of agency workers.
