Introduction

This virtual classroom seminar will focus on the particular liability, contributory negligence and quantum issues that commonly arise in motorcycle claims and the particular losses that may need to be addressed when valuing a claim.

Using real-life examples, case studies and a hypothetical Schedule of Loss, the live session will provide practical guidance to help practitioners approach motorcycle claims with greater confidence.

What You Will Learn

This live and interactive course will cover the following:

  • An overview of the unique dangers faced by motorcyclists
  • ‘Sorry Mate I didn’t see you’ and bias
  • Common mechanisms of accidents and likely issues of liability
  • Possible defences and/or contributory negligence submissions
  • Working through a Schedule in a hypothetical claim to highlight the particular issues that are likely to arise in motorcycle claims
  • Consideration of the particular problems that arise with injuries to younger Claimants still in education
  • Analysis of relevant recent caselaw
  • A brief comment on ebike claims (but this is not the focus of this live session)

Recording of live sessions: Soon after the Learn Live session has taken place you will be able to go back and access the recording - should you wish to revisit the material discussed.
