Following the Domestic Abuse Act 2021, Qualified Legal Representatives (QLR) are appointed by the court in proceedings involving domestic abuse, children, and financial applications. The appointment of a QLR is increasingly important at court hearings and is in place to protect the vulnerable witness and to ensure unrepresented parties are fairly heard.
