Introduction

A seismic shift in regulatory expectations is upon us, the FCA’s Consumer Duty significantly shifts the goalposts for organisations.

Against the backdrop of multiple failures to treat customers fairly the new duty has been formed to improve standards within the industry.

Firms are required to do better to understand the characteristics of customers in their target market, including vulnerable customers and identify whether their products and services are providing positive outcomes whilst avoiding foreseeable harm.

However, the duty goes further, it requires firms to undertake a range of assessments at certain points in time, also prescribing the content of such assessments.

This new in-person full day masterclass is an opportunity to compare your approaches to these assessments to others in the industry and benchmark against regulatory expectations.

It is suitable for those with responsibility for embedding the duty in firms and for those creating the content of product reviews and value assessments.

As an advanced course it applies to:

  • Those with responsibility for the implementation of the duty in firms
  • Those with responsibility for product approvals, product reviews and value assessments
  • Firms operating in England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland
