The New Bundles Practice Direction for Family Lawyers - Everything You Need to Know

Introduction

On 2 March 2026 the new bundles practice direction (PD27A) will come into force.

The practice direction will apply to all hearings in the family court, as well as those before a judge sitting in the Family Division of the High Court. Crucially, the new practice direction mandates electronic bundles (e-bundles) by default.

The changes represent a substantial and significant update that practitioners will need to become familiar with at the earliest opportunity.
