Introduction

Over the past year, the courts have increasingly considered the implications of the Highway Code in the context of the duties applying to local authorities to maintain the public highway.

This webinar will consider the recent developments in caselaw relating to the interaction between the Highway Code and personal injury liability. This appears to be something of a growth area of the law and will allow practitioners in this area to consider how best to use this approach to cases they may encounter.

What You Will Learn

This webinar will cover the following:

  • Implications in claims relating to maintenance of the Highway, with reference to Morriss v London Borough of Hillingdon (Rev1) [2025] and Karpasitis v Hertfordshire County Council [2025]
  • What this has to do with the Highway Code specifically
  • How to use this in routine practice

This pre-recorded webinar will be available to view from Wednesday 7th January 2026

Alternatively, you can gain access to this webinar and 1,900+ others via the MBL Webinar Subscription. Please email webinarsubscription@mblseminars.com for more details.
