Introduction

Unfortunately, cases of hate crime continue to rise in England and Wales.

The prosecution of these cases effectively is a key priority for the CPS with the DPP recently announcing updated guidance on the prosecution of cases of hate crime.

The CPS aim is to ensure that offenders are brought to justice quickly and that prosecutors are aware of the need for speed, clarity and confidence in dealing with cases involving hate crime.

This course is designed to help you achieve that.

This course is aimed at those in both the Police and Crown Prosecution Service.

What You Will Learn

This live and interactive course will cover the following:

  • Confidence in your understanding of the legislation around hate crime
  • Guidance on making pre-charge decisions effectively
  • Guidance on proportionate and relevant evidence gathering
  • Practical guidance for court progression
  • Post conviction orders
    • Recording of live sessions: Soon after the Learn Live session has taken place you will be able to go back and access the recording - should you wish to revisit the material discussed.
