Introduction

Mile for mile, motorcyclists are 26 times more likely to be killed or injured on the road than car drivers.

This webinar will consider the common types of injury (especially brain and spinal injuries and amputations suffered by young males) together with the possible issues of contributory negligence (such as abuse of alcohol/drugs and driving too fast and without sufficient attention).

There will be practical advice as to how to establish rapport with claimants who are may be very young and reluctant to bring claims. From the defence perspective, we will look at the ways in which the credibility of a claim may be challenged and possible quantum issues which will enhance of limit the damages claims.

What You Will Learn

This webinar will cover the following:

  • An overview of the motorcycle and its dangers
  • Common mechanisms of accidents and likely issues of liability
  • Possible defences and/or contributory negligence submissions
  • Working through a schedule in a hypothetical claim which such accidents disclose
  • Consideration of the particular problems of badly injured young claimants
  • Analysis of relevant recent caselaw as needed

This pre-recorded webinar will be streamed at 12:30pm on Wednesday 1st May 2024 and will remain available to view by delegates who have registered by then for 90 days.
