From April 2027, mandatory payrolling of certain benefits in kind will become a reality, bringing a significant change to the way employers report benefits and account for the associated tax and Class 1A National Insurance.

But this is about much more than whether your payroll software is ready.

Employers will need to understand where their benefits information currently sits, who is responsible for it and crucially, whether accurate information can reach payroll in time to meet payroll cut-off dates.
