Introduction

This virtual classroom seminar will enable you to navigate the notoriously tricky Animals Act 1971 and analyse the various causes of actions where there has been personal injury caused by animals.

  • Does it matter in law if you are bitten by a Chihuahua rather than a bully breed?
  • What makes an animal’s characteristic an abnormal characteristic?
  • Is it negligent to let your dog off the lead around people or other animals?
  • If there’s a road collision between a loose animal and vehicle, does it matter what the animal is doing at the time of the collision?
  • Can riding accident claims ever succeed under the Animals Act?

These questions and more will be answered in this live session. With the latest case law, this live session will help you to apply the law in different situations and analyse the strengths and weaknesses of animal cases, whether a horse-riding accident or a dog bite for example.
