Introduction

Employers are sometimes required by law to form an ‘Employee Forum’ to consult with their employees collectively, if they do not already have agreements in place with unions or existing employee groups for that purpose.

Collective consultation processes follow a particular format for both redundancy and TUPE scenarios, so it is important that employers understand their duties under the law fully.

Both the affected workforce and those employees remaining with the business will expect their employer to handle these situations professionally and confidently.

Without any experience of undertaking formal consultation the process can be daunting - employees are likely to challenge their employer over its proposals and the business may struggle to understand its options in terms giving an appropriate response.

Aimed at HR professionals and people managers, this new virtual classroom seminar will walk you through the process for both types of consultation. Expert speaker Helen Cleare will offer some useful tips on how to ensure that meetings run smoothly, and that consultation is undertaken meaningfully and within the legal framework. Consideration will also be given to concerns that employers will have in maintaining relations with their workforce.
