Introduction

Many of those who practice in both the area of family and corporate law will have come across business owned by spouses, or where one party owns a business and the separating spouse seeks to establish a claim.

During this virtual classroom seminar we will cover everything you need to know about what to do where a business is declared in a Form E financial disclosure, or if it isn’t declared, and one party seeks to hide a business interest.

There have been a number of key cases which explored the treatment of businesses in divorce, including Standish v Standish [2025], Vince v Vince and Ho v TL, and this live session will explore what these have done to the landscape when it comes to businesses in divorce.

In addition to the current guidance and precedents the session will explore the practical steps when looking at business in divorce, the experts they may need to involve, and the questions you should be asking.

You will leave this session having undertaken worked examples on business treatment, and with a better understanding and confidence in dealing with business when forming part of the matrimonial assets.
