FCA Spotlight - Non-Financial Misconduct
Introduction
Non-financial misconduct has been a real area of focus for the FCA in the past few years. It follows the #MeToo movement, which led to a shift in society’s expectations on how misconduct should be treated, in the workplace or otherwise. In light of this focus, and in particular the reputational consequences of not dealing with such issues in line with regulatory expectation, firms (and HR and compliance professionals in particular) have been grappling with potentially thorny issues relating to non-financial misconduct.
This webinar will cover a broad range of topics, and provide a brief background and context on non-financial misconduct and its rise in prominence in recent years. The FCA’s finalised proposals relating to its conduct rules and fitness and propriety assessments will be considered in detail, as will a small selection of recent cases. The webinar will conclude with a couple of hypothetical scenarios, which should provide you with practical pointers and takeaways.
