End of Life Decisions - Latest Developments
Introduction
As people near the end of life, it’s important to have conversations with family and healthcare professionals about future care and treatment. These discussions help everyone understand wishes and expectations, making it easier to plan ahead.
Planning for end of life care gives individuals control over the treatment they want, or don’t want, reduces stress for loved ones, and provides peace of mind. Knowing the options and making informed decisions early can make a difficult time much easier.
This new virtual classroom seminar will consider the statutory framework and recent case law relating to end of life care, including the withdrawal of treatment, lasting powers of attorney, best interests, and advance decisions.
It is suitable for private client and Court of Protection practitioners who support clients in making lasting powers of attorney, advance decisions and making applications to the Court of Protection for determination of health and welfare issues.
