Introduction

It is a generally held belief that employee participation in share plans is positive for all involved.

But what if things do not go quite to plan?

This new virtual classroom seminar will examine some of the common pitfalls and issues facing the designers and implementer of employee share plans.

It focuses on private companies and is aimed at any professional adviser who acts for clients considering implementing share plans, who already have share plans and who have an acquisition strategy that may involve companies with share plans.

This session will also be of interest to company secretaries, benefits managers, and in-house personnel responsible for the implementation or day to day running and management of share plans.

For public companies, please see Employee Share Incentives - Common Pitfalls for Listed Companies.

What You Will Learn

This live and interactive session will cover the tax, legal, accounting, and practical considerations relating to:

  • Aligning share plans to commercial objectives
  • Determining design, eligibility and participation levels
  • Sourcing and funding shares and share plans
  • Valuation and value realisation
  • Managing compliance
  • Handling leavers and business change

Time will also be spent focussing particularly on the Enterprise Management Incentive, which remains the most popular share incentive for private companies.

Recording of live sessions: Soon after the Learn Live session has taken place you will be able to go back and access the recording - should you wish to revisit the material discussed.
