The pace and intensity of competition law enforcement in the EU continues to accelerate.

In 2022, various additional tools to tackle digital markets were added, including the widely discussed Digital Markets Act (DMA) and Digital Services Act (DSA). The European Commission (EC) has also updated its Vertical Guidelines as well as the underlying VBER and is in the process of revising its Horizontal Guidelines and related block exemption regulations to take account of developments in the online sphere. Finally, there is a host of ongoing EC investigations and recent case law in the digital sphere.

This virtual classroom session will explore the latest key developments in EU competition law in relation to the digital sphere and related regulatory efforts as well as providing an outlook for 2023.
