Commercial Leases in Scotland - A Drafting & Negotiation Workshop
Introduction
This workshop seminar is intended for solicitors dealing with commercial leasing at an intermediate to advanced level and it will provide an understanding on common law provisions (implied terms) in leases and how to draft to be able to contract out of these.
The session will include:
- The drafting, revising and negotiating process
- The ‘ripple effect’ of drafting, revisals and counter-revisals
- How to revise and counter-revise key clauses including rent review, assignation and sub-letting, repair, insurance and uninsured risks
- How to draft, revise and counter revise clauses in offers to lease where premises being constructed or refurbished
