CASS Compliance Update: FCA Expectations & Future Developments

Introduction

The FCA still regards compliance with the Client Assets (‘CASS’) regime and the protection of assets held on behalf of customers as a strategic priority. It expects firms to have rigorous controls in place as well as high standards of CASS governance and oversight, including a robust three lines of defence model.

While the CASS rules for many firms have not changed, the CASS environment is expanding, with the introduction of CASS 15 for payment firms during 2026 and the upcoming CASS 16 and 17 relating to digital assets. AI is also now impacting CASS.

This new virtual classroom seminar is suitable for those individuals currently responsible for CASS compliance within regulated firms who want to understand how the FCA is supervising firms during this period of change and what they can do to avoid issues. This includes Senior Managers with the Prescribed Responsibility for CASS compliance, CASS oversight managers, heads of risk and compliance, or external advisers to firms.
