Introduction

Change is often where otherwise stable CASS frameworks start to come under pressure. New products, system or ledger migrations, outsourcing arrangements and wider operating model changes can all introduce client asset risk where CASS is considered too late, scoped too narrowly or not tested thoroughly enough before implementation.

This virtual classroom session looks at how CASS risk arises during change, where firms most often get it wrong in practice and what good looks like, from early scoping through to implementation and post-go-live review. You will leave with a clearer framework for identifying CASS risk earlier, asking the right challenge questions and strengthening governance before issues become breaches.

What you will learn

This live and interactive course will cover the following:

  • The types of business change that should trigger focused CASS assessment and challenge
  • How to assess the impact of change across client money and custody flows, reconciliations, systems, books and records, governance and third-party arrangements
  • The key challenge areas at project initiation, design and approval stage
  • Where firms typically go wrong, including late CASS involvement, poor assumptions, weak ownership, incomplete testing and weak handover into BAU
  • How to assess whether controls, governance and MI remain fit for purpose after change
  • What good pre-go-live review, sign-off and supporting evidence should look like
  • How to identify residual risk and document CASS decisions clearly
  • Post-implementation review and the warning signs that change has introduced new control weakness

Recording of live sessions: Soon after the Learn Live session has taken place you will be able to go back and access the recording - should you wish to revisit the material discussed.
