The Family Drug & Alcohol Court within Public Law Children Act Proceedings

Introduction

The Family Drug and Alcohol Court offers an alternative to standard care proceedings utilising a problem-solving based approach within care proceedings to support parents, whose substance misuse has placed their children at risk of significant harm.

The focus is on working with a specialist multidisciplinary team, Judge and other professionals to afford parents the opportunity to address these issues and ultimately provide good enough parenting to their children.
