Introduction

At 11pm on 31 December 2020, the Implementation Period under the UK-EU Withdrawal Agreement came to an end.

The previously in force Immigration (EEA) Regulations 2016 (as amended) were only retained in certain instances thereafter and the legal framework regulating the EU Settlement Scheme (EUSS) is now both complex and voluminous.

This new virtual classroom seminar aims to bring practitioners up to date with the latest issues in EUSS applications and what to look out for in developing case-law.

What You Will Learn

This live and interactive session will cover the following:

  • An overview of previous Free Movement rights and how these have been carried forward into the EUSS
  • Discretion and guidance for late EUSS applications, including recent changes in Home Office practice
  • An overview of the main categories under Appendix EU
  • Continuity of residence and permitted absences
  • Family member applications within Appendix EU (FP) - who is covered and how?
  • Derivative Rights
  • A look at some of the problem categories
  • Relevant case-law analysis
  • Possible alternative solutions

Recording of live sessions: Soon after the Learn Live session has taken place you will be able to go back and access the recording - should you wish to revisit the material discussed.
