Introduction

According to the SRA AML Annual Report 2022/23 only 30% of the firms visited were fully compliant in terms of AML compliance.

In addition, 19% of firms were not compliant at all and were referred to the investigations team.

These figures need to improve.

The first few months of 2024 have seen an increase in the number of firms being fined for failures of AML compliance, but there is a lot you can do to be prepared for an SRA visit and to come out of it with a fully compliant rating.
