The Debt Respite Scheme & Breathing Space Regulations

Introduction

This webinar will discuss the implementation of the breathing space regulations which will provide legal protection from creditors in certain situations.

There are two different options available through the scheme:

A standard breathing space order which is available to anyone with problem debt and provides legal protection from creditor action for up to 60 days.

A mental health crisis breathing space order which is available to someone who is receiving mental health crisis treatment and provides protection throughout the person's mental health crisis treatment, plus 30 days.

Implementation of the policy will begin on 4 May 2021.
