Introduction

This virtual classroom session will cover civil fraud in commercial litigation.

There have been repeated warnings in recent years by the courts as to how fraud allegations should be advanced and when they should not be advanced.

The case of Kasem v University College London Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust offers useful guidance and will be considered in this session through a case study.

The session will also consider summary disposal of such cases.

What You Will Learn

This live and interactive session will cover the following:

  • The elements of an allegation of fraud
  • Help you to understand the nature of the standard of proof
  • How to plead fraud and when it can be pleaded
  • How to apply the pleading requirements in practice
  • Understand ways to summarily dispose of such claims

Recording of live sessions: Soon after the Learn Live session has taken place you will be able to go back and access the recording - should you wish to revisit the material discussed.
