Introduction

Applications for Deputyship have increased since the pandemic.

Clients that held off making Lasting Powers of Attorney (‘LPAs’) started to realise that they needed them but found that all too often they had left it too late, and they lacked the capacity to create one.

If you visit a client who lacks capacity to create an LPA, you should offer to provide the Deputyship Service.

This new virtual classroom seminar will walk you through the whole process from taking instructions, the mental capacity assessment, preparing the forms, submitting to the court and what happens once the court orders are made.

It will offer tips and advice on getting the best chance of your application being accepted without further question or delay.

The session is suitable for qualified practitioners who are already providing LPAs for their clients.
