Introduction

Generation Z (also known as ‘Zoomers’ or Gen Z) are the youngest employees to enter the workplace, and leaders know that the future success of their business depends upon them.

Employers may find that this latest generation of workers is different to previous ones - they can see that Gen Z have a completely different approach to work. They have ideas and attitudes which may puzzle and delight in equal measure: they might also frustrate managers who do not understand them or who find their demands unreasonable. There are reasons why Generation Z can be challenging and smart business leaders know that they need to work with the next generation of talent to get the best out of them.

This full day course will look at the background to Gen Z and why these workers need to be understood. This means that you also need to look at yourselves and ask whether you can do more to accommodate the way that they want to work and are able to work.

A rethink of many of the traditional practices may be needed and ways of working that might come naturally to us but which Gen Z struggle to adapt to. The future of your business means that you need to take action.

What You Will Learn

This course will cover the following:

  • Understanding Gen Z and how they might differ from our other workers
  • The legal framework for making changes to accommodate a distinct group of workers
  • How to become an ‘employer of choice’ to attract the best candidates
  • Setting your recruitment strategy to ensure that Gen Z do not overlook you
  • Creating a working environment to make Generation Z employees thrive
  • Management mistakes to avoid
  • How to keep your younger employers from thinking that the grass is greener elsewhere
  • Putting in place an action plan to build a great place to work for Gen Z
