Introduction

UK charities whose work takes place wholly or partly overseas face increasing challenges. The mixture of culture, environment and compliance with local laws are compounded with the ever-present obligations of charity law and practice. All of this is over and above the charitable work the organisation sets out to do!

Those advising charities need to keep abreast of the changing requirements in order to provide advice on suitable structures for working overseas, the governance and reporting obligations and how to respond to the ‘what if?’ scenario.

Recent high-profile cases have shown many charities to be unprepared to respond to and manage the risks inherent in working overseas. The damage both to a defaulting charity and the sector generally is significant.

This new live broadcast session is aimed at charity trustees, senior managers, accountants and lawyers who advise in the charity sector.
