Introduction
Succession planning for farmers is often complicated and perhaps more so this year due to the changes to farming subsidies set out in the Agriculture Act 2020 and the possibility of changes to the inheritance tax system and the reliefs which may be available on death.
This new virtual classroom seminar will explore the specific considerations relevant to drafting wills for farmers and agricultural landowners.
It is aimed at will writers, solicitors and private client practitioners who want to be more confident when preparing wills and providing estate and succession planning advice for farmers and landowner clients.
What You Will Learn
This live and interactive session will cover the following:
- How to identify the type of farmer you are acting for and the right questions to ask
- The use of trusts in farming wills
- Claims which may be made against agricultural estates and the steps you can take at the will drafting stage to reduce the likelihood of a successful claim
- The application of Agricultural Property Relief (APR) and Business Property Relief (BPR)
Recording of live sessions: Soon after the Learn Live session has taken place you will be able to go back and access the recording - should you wish to revisit the material discussed.
