The New Building Safety Regulator - Key Guidance
The tragedy of Grenfell in June 2017 has forced the Government and the construction industry into action. There is a new focus on the construction of high-rise residential blocks and of ensuring the safety of those who live in them.
Following publication in July 2020 of the draft Building Safety Bill, the HSE is establishing a new Building Safety Regulator in order to implement the requirements of the Bill and following the recommendations made in the Hackitt Report.
This 30-minute webinar outlines the key points about the new Building Safety Regulator. The Regulator will oversee all aspects of high-rise buildings, namely design, construction, and occupation. There will be particular emphasis on residents’ safety and security. The Regulator will use both ‘carrots’ and ‘sticks’ to exercise its powers.
The webinar is designed for all individuals who work on, or advise on, construction projects.
